Step #1: Click on the “Scale to Fit” option.

In my canvas, I have already added a Giraffe image from the “Animals” section. Since the design element is already clicked, all that’s left for you to do is click on the “Scale to Fit” option in the context menu.

There are four options: Contain, Cover, Contain (bleed), and Cover (bleed).

I will click on the “Contain” option first.

This is what the image looks like after.

As seen in the image above, the image stayed within the area designated and fully visible on the page.

I went ahead and clicked on the “Cover” option. This is what the image looks like after:

As seen in the image above, the image crossed the border of the page making sure that the width is kept within the margins.

I went ahead and clicked on the “Contain (bleed)” option. This is what the image looks like after:

As seen in the image above, the image crossed the border and goes into the bleed area.

Lastly, I went ahead and clicked on the “Cover (bleed)” option. This is what the image looks like after:

As seen in the image above, the image crossed the bleed area on all dimensions in terms of height and width.
